Job description

CYBREX Technologies is seeking an experienced Senior Cloud Administrator to join our Cloud Architecture and Administration team supporting mission-critical federal environments. This role is ideal for a cloud professional who thrives in highly secure environments and enjoys designing, deploying, and optimizing modern cloud platforms that support containerized applications, automation, and emerging AI capabilities.

You will play a key role in managing and evolving our AWS GovCloud infrastructure, driving operational excellence through Infrastructure as Code (IaC), automation, and cloud-native best practices while ensuring compliance with federal cybersecurity requirements.

Key Responsibilities Cloud Infrastructure & Operations

  • Design, deploy, administer, and optimize secure cloud environments within AWS GovCloud.
  • Manage and maintain highly available, scalable, and resilient cloud infrastructure supporting mission-critical applications.
  • Monitor platform performance, availability, security, and cost optimization initiatives.

Containerization & Platform Engineering

  • Deploy, configure, and support containerized workloads using Amazon EKS (Elastic Kubernetes Service) and Kubernetes.
  • Implement cloud-native architecture patterns and support modern application deployments.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure, networking, and container platform issues.

Automation & DevOps

  • Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform.
  • Build and support CI/CD pipelines utilizing GitLab and modern DevSecOps practices.
  • Automate operational processes, system provisioning, monitoring, and compliance activities.

Security & Compliance

  • Ensure cloud environments comply with federal security requirements, including NIST 800-53, FISMA, and related governance frameworks.
  • Implement security controls, logging, monitoring, vulnerability management, and cloud security best practices.
  • Support security assessments, audits, and continuous monitoring activities.

Collaboration & Innovation

  • Partner with architects, engineers, developers, and security teams in an Agile environment.
  • Utilize Jira and related collaboration tools to support project planning and execution.
  • Contribute to cloud strategy, platform modernization initiatives, and emerging technologies, including AI/ML-enabled cloud services.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Vulnerability management?, * Hands-on experience designing, administering, and securing environments within AWS GovCloud.

  • Working knowledge of federal cybersecurity and compliance frameworks, including NIST SP 800-53, FISMA, and related regulatory requirements.
  • Experience supporting or deploying AI/ML platforms, cloud-based data science environments, or generative AI workloads.
  • Proficiency with GitLab for source control and CI/CD automation, as well as Jira for Agile project management and workflow tracking.
  • Industry-recognized AWS certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer.
  • Experience supporting highly regulated environments within the Federal Government, Financial Services, Defense, or other compliance-driven industries., * Experience implementing DevSecOps practices and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.
  • Familiarity with container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes and Amazon EKS.
  • Knowledge of cloud security, continuous monitoring, and automated compliance validation.
  • Experience supporting cloud modernization, digital transformation, or enterprise platform engineering initiatives.
