Job description
In this position, you will serve as the primary subject matter expert on WisDOT workstation management, encompassing, but not limited to, establishing hardware standards and equipment specifications, Windows Operating System, workstation browsers, unit supported and standard workstation applications, browser and workstation application policies, software testing and validation, and workstation vulnerability management.
You’ll be directly responsible for providing technical leadership to technical analysts and administrators in performing those duties, and coordinating the work of task forces and committees, comprised of IT and customer personnel involved in managing WisDOT workstations. In addition, you will be responsible for proposing and establishing technical policies, procedures, and guidelines for sound management, administration, and control of the tools WisDOT utilizes to manage the workstation environment.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Windows support?, Minimally qualified applicants must detail having all of the following in order to be considered:
- Significant professional experience supporting and/or managing standard workstation applications, workstation browsers, and Windows Operating systems.
- Significant professional experience supporting and/or managing software testing and validation.
- Significant professional experience supporting and/or managing browser and application policies, and/or vulnerability management.
- Significant experience performing technical research and/or consulting services (specifically to support products implemented, new tool research and/or implementation of workstation management solutions)
In addition to having experience in all of the above, well qualified applicants will also have experience in at least one of the following:
- Serving in a team leader or trainer capacity
- Leading the development, recommendation, and/or presentation of short and long-term strategies for IT workstation management.
- Performing technical and security fit/gap analysis for workstation management

For more information on WisDOT you can visit our website by clicking here., This position is in schedule-range (07-32) with an annual salary of $100,880 - $118,560 (or $48.50 - $57.00 per hour), plus excellent benefits. A twelve-month probationary period is required. Pay for current state employees will be set in accordance with the Wisconsin State Compensation Plan.
