Job description

The Development Manager supports philanthropic growth through donor stewardship, fundraising coordination, and strategic communications. The position oversees the organization’s digital presence, including website management, social media, and newsletters, to strengthen donor engagement, increase community awareness, and support fundraising goals. The position requires an organized, proactive professional who can manage multiple priorities, maintain consistent brand messaging, and contribute to a collaborative, mission-driven environment.

Donor Stewardship & Fundraising

· Build strong relationships with donors and corporate partners through personalized engagement.

· Oversee donor appreciation events, impact reports, and acknowledgment campaigns.

· Ensure timely and meaningful donor communications, including thank-you letters, newsletters (Mailchimp), and impact stories.

· Work closely with the Executive Director, Chief Programs Officer, and program teams to align donor engagement with organizational priorities.

· Plan and implement fundraising campaigns, including direct mail, online giving, and peer-to-peer efforts.

· Plan annual fundraising events (spring luncheon & fall 5K) .

· Manage event-related vendor communication and supply procurement.

Database and Reporting Management

· Ensure accurate donor data entry and tracking in the organization’s CRM or donor database.

· Generate reports to evaluate donor engagement trends and support leadership with actionable insights.

Communications and Marketing

· Manage and maintain the organization’s website (WordPress), ensuring content is current, accurate, and aligned with branding and messaging standards.

· Coordinate website updates related to programs, events, donor opportunities, impact stories, and organizational news.

· Develop and manage content for social media platforms, e-newsletters, and other digital communications.

· Monitor website analytics and recommend improvements to enhance user engagement and online giving.

Requirements

· Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Nonprofit Management, or a related field.

· 3-5 years of experience in donor relations, fundraising, or nonprofit communications.

· Proficiency in social media management and digital marketing tools.

· Strong storytelling, writing, and content creation skills.

· Experience with CRM databases and donor management software (Bloomerang, Donorbox, GiveButter).

· Ability to analyze social media metrics and adjust strategies accordingly.

· Passion for nonprofit work and donor engagement.

Preferred Qualifications

· Experience in video editing and graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite).

· Knowledge of SEO, email marketing, and online fundraising platforms.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

· Ability to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods.

· Capability to lift to 20 pounds occasionally.

· Willingness to participate in physical activities on-site and within the communit
