Building Systems Design Specialist

As a Building Systems Design Specialist, you will work with project managers, system integrators, technicians, and customers to design control systems that manage heating, cooling, ventilation, energy usage, and indoor environmental quality in commercial facilities.

This position combines elements of engineering, design, technology, automation, and construction.

What You’ll Do

• Review construction drawings and project specifications
• Assist in designing Building Automation and HVAC control systems
• Develop engineering documentation and control drawings
• Create equipment schedules, point lists, and sequences of operation
• Prepare project submittal packages
• Support startup, commissioning, and system testing activities
• Collaborate with project managers, technicians, and system integrators
• Learn HVAC systems, controls technologies, and energy management strategies
• Assist with customer training and project closeout documentation
• Participate in continuous technical training and professional development, Electro Controls provides extensive training covering:
• HVAC fundamentals
• Building Automation Systems (BAS)
• Controls design
• Sequences of operation
• Equipment selection
• Control drawings
• Submittal development
• Commissioning and startup
• Industry software platforms
