Job description

Leapros Skilled Trades is actively hiring Data Center Installers & Technicians in Springfield, NE. This role supports a major data center retrofit project, focusing on the installation and maintenance of critical structured cabling and infrastructure. We are seeking individuals ranging from entry-level installers eager to learn the trade to experienced technicians capable of executing complex cable terminations and testing., * Install, route, and secure structured cabling, including fiber optic and copper, within a high-density data center environment.

  • Execute infrastructure retrofit tasks by removing, replacing, or upgrading existing cabling and hardware components.
  • Assist in the assembly and installation of server racks, cabinets, cable trays, and patch panels.
  • Perform cable termination, labeling, and basic testing to ensure all connections meet project specifications.
  • Read and interpret project blueprints and schematics to ensure accurate placement of infrastructure.
  • Maintain a safe and organized workspace by following strict housekeeping standards across large-scale jobsites.
  • Collaborate with project leads to ensure daily production targets and 10-week project milestones are met.
  • Troubleshoot basic connectivity issues and report deficiencies to the on-site supervisor for resolution.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Safety standard operating procedures?, Do you have a High school diploma or GED?, * Technician-level roles require at least 1 year of experience in structured cabling or data center environments.

  • Installer-level roles are open to candidates with basic mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn on-site.
  • Demonstrated reliability and the ability to maintain a consistent 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM schedule.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written technical instructions with high attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with common hand tools and basic cable installation techniques.
  • Proven ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced, mission-critical setting.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalency required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to stand and walk for long periods, including moving between multiple buildings on a large campus.
  • Ability to lift and carry materials or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Capable of frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, and reaching to install cabling in tight or overhead spaces.
  • Ability to climb and work from ladders up to 20 feet as necessary.
  • Manual dexterity to handle small components and use precision hand tools for termination.
  • Willingness to work in a construction-style environment and adhere to all OSHA safety protocols.

Final compensation will be determined during the interview process by the hiring authority.
