Job description

Rally Consulting provides database and fundraising consulting services to nonprofit organizations. We are known for our expertise in Raiser’s Edge but support a variety of CRM, fundraising, and communication platforms. Our focus areas include interim development support, database training and best practices guidance, fundraising operations, and strategic project work. The Associate Consultant supports multiple client engagements through database management, gift processing, donor stewardship, prospect research, fundraising support, and related consulting services. Consultants work with multiple nonprofit clients simultaneously, balancing priorities while delivering high-quality service and strategic support., Client Service and Consulting

  • Serve as a trusted resource to client organizations.
  • Train client staff on database usage, gift processing procedures, and fundraising best practices.
  • Develop standard operating procedures and process documentation.
  • Research and recommend solutions to client challenges.
  • Provide strategic recommendations that improve efficiency, data integrity, and fundraising effectiveness.

Database and Gift Administration

  • Process charitable contributions and maintain accurate donor records.
  • Reconcile gifts and fundraising records with finance staff as needed.
  • Prepare acknowledgement letters, tax receipts, and donor communications.
  • Monitor and improve the quality, accuracy, and integrity of donor databases.
  • Generate reports and provide data analysis to support fundraising efforts.

Fundraising Support

  • Conduct donor and prospect research utilizing available research tools.
  • Provide support for database use and/or strategy to all fundraising initiatives: annual giving, major gifts, grants, sponsorships, and fundraising events.
  • Help prepare fundraising materials, proposals, reports, and donor communications.
  • Research, write, and submit grant proposals; maintain grant pipelines and deadlines.

Project Management

  • Manage multiple projects and client assignments simultaneously.
  • Track deadlines, deliverables, and project progress.
  • Communicate regularly with clients and team members regarding project status.

Business Development Support

  • Assist with proposal preparation and business development activities.
  • Support prospecting, networking, marketing, and relationship-building efforts.
  • Contribute ideas that strengthen Rally Consulting’s services and growth.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Stay current on fundraising trends, nonprofit best practices, database technology, AI tools, and relevant regulations.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities.
  • Complete other duties and special projects as assigned.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Research?, The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, client-focused, highly organized, and passionate about helping nonprofit organizations strengthen their fundraising operations and donor engagement., * Knowledge of Raiser’s Edge and understanding of other fundraising database platforms (Bloomerang, Little Green Light, etc.)

  • 3+ years’ experience working with nonprofit fundraising operations, or donor databases.
  • Superior organizational and project management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, email marketing, and Google Workspace.
  • Ability to easily learn new data management tools.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently, with a strong focus on meeting deadlines.

Preferred

  • Experience with grant research and grant writing.
  • Experience with donor research tools such as ResearchPoint, DonorSearch, or similar platforms.
  • Knowledge of nonprofit fundraising principles and donor stewardship practices., * nonprofit fundraising operations, or donor database: 3 years (Preferred)
