Job description

PC Deployment Technician Position Summary: This role is responsible for executing both the de-installation of legacy systems and the installation of new client systems within client environments. The technician will ensure all systems are properly tagged, tested, and validated with minimal disruption to end-users. Duties include on-site hardware transitions, asset documentation, and end-user support during deployment projects., * Legacy System De-Installation:

  • Disconnect hardware components, network cables, and power cords.
  • Move equipment to designated locations for removal.
  • Remove hard drives and return them to the customer.
  • Deliver old systems to Asset Recovery Services partners.

New System Installation:

  • Unpack and inspect new desktop equipment.
  • Move systems to installation locations (e.g., H105 lab).
  • Attach asset tags and connect to existing monitors and peripherals.
  • Boot up systems and confirm network connectivity.
  • Ensure Autopilot execution and perform validation tests.
  • Document systems with asset, model, and service tag details.
  • Clean the site and remove packaging or debris.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Configure and test peripheral devices (e.g., printers, scanners).
  • Troubleshoot minor issues and assist users post-deployment.
  • Load and unload hardware from delivery vehicles.
  • Contribute to the improvement of deployment procedures.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Windows?, * 1 to 3 years of PC deployment or IT support experience.

  • Proficiency in Windows OS and hardware troubleshooting.
  • Ability to work both independently and in teams.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent communication skills.
  • Willingness to adapt and learn new technologies.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 40 lbs.
  • Role requires lifting, pushing, pulling, walking, crawling, kneeling, and bending to complete various tasks.
