Job description
- Lead the design, implementation, and documentation of the program data architecture, including relational and non-relational database schemas supporting the data integration layer.
- Design and implement database systems ensuring schema designs align with API integration patterns and data flow requirements across the program environment.
- Develop, document, test, and debug database software; apply appropriate standards and processes throughout the development lifecycle.
- Implement database performance monitoring, fine-tuning, and capacity planning; support backup and disaster recovery strategy development.
- Support database replication design and implementation for the classified program environment.
- Implement automation using scripting languages (PowerShell, Python) to support database operations and deployment pipelines.
- Collaborate with the Cloud Architect, Network Architect, and DevSecOps Lead to ensure database deployments meet DoW seurity requirements and STIG compliance standards.
- Produce and maintain database design documentation consistent with configuration management requirements.
Requirements

- U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain a U.S. Government Top SECRET security clearance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (pending LCAT confirmation).
- [TBD] years of experience in database engineering on classified DoW programs (pending LCAT level confirmation).
- Experience with design and implementation of relational and non-relational databases, SQL, and data analytics.
- Experience supporting PostgreSQL database management systems on Windows or Linux.
- Experience with database replication and full lifecycle development.
- Experience with scripting languages (PowerShell, Python) for database automation and operations.
WHAT THE TEAM PREFERS:
- Current U.S. Government Top SECRET clearance.
- Experience supporting DoW, U.S. Space Force, or Space Systems Command programs.
- Experience working on Agile teams using SAFe methodologies with JIRA and Confluence.
- Experience with DevSecOps processes and cloud infrastructure (AWS GovCloud).
- Systems administration experience in Windows, Linux, and VM environments.
- DoW 8140 Level II Security certification (Security+) or ability to obtain within 6 months.
