Job description

The AVP - Market Data Sourcing serves as the Global Category Lead for all Market Data and Data Licensing agreements enterprise wide.

  • Lead end-to-end sourcing for supplier agreements across Market Data and other Data Licensing categories
  • Analyze Market Data spend and create a comprehensive Category Strategy to optimize how Moody’s consumes third-party data across its various business units
  • Create and execute strategic sourcing events (RFPs, RFIs, targeted negotiations) with key Market Data suppliers that align to business needs
  • Act as Subject Matter Expert to advise stakeholders on data licensing structures, including usage rights, entitlements, and compliance requirements
  • Proactively manage Market Data renewal pipeline in collaboration with internal stakeholders
  • Liaise with Enterprise Data Estate and Partnerships team on inbound data agreements that require Procurement support
  • Collaborate with third-party benchmark providers to validate pricing proposals and negotiate competitive purchase agreements
  • Partner cross-functionally with Legal, Finance, Technology, and Data Governance to align sourcing strategy with enterprise priorities
  • Build strong relationships with senior business leaders and influence decisions at the executive level
  • Understand and report savings metrics to help contribute to department-wide objectives
  • Consistently focus on continuous improvement and process change
  • Leverage analytics, automation, and AI to improve sourcing efficiency and decision-making

About the Team Our Procurement & Sourcing Group (PSG) team is responsible for driving strategic sourcing initiatives and delivering cost optimization across Moody’s global operations. We contribute to the organization by managing enterprise-wide supplier relationships, advancing data licensing strategies, and enabling smarter, more efficient procurement decisions. Requirements

Do you have experience in Vendor relationship management?, Do you have a Bachelor’s degree?, * 7 - 10 years of Procurement Sourcing experience

  • Deep understanding of Market Data category with a strong track record of negotiating data licensing agreements
  • Strong experience in negotiating complex, enterprise-scale data licensing agreements
  • Experience with Market Data Management Inventory systems
  • Highly motivated self-starter that thrives in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong stakeholder and supplier relationship management skills with track record of navigating executive level relationships
  • Ability to analyze trends, forecast demand, and model costs from diverse data sources to deliver strategic insights
  • Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills, and judgment, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver against deadlines
  • Ability to work effectively across regions and with all levels of management
  • Experience balancing cost and risk targets to achieve organizational objectives
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word, including advanced skills such as creating and managing spreadsheets, using formulas for calculations, tracking data changes with redlining, and inserting comments to facilitate clear collaboration and document review
  • Basic understanding of artificial intelligence concepts, with curiosity and enthusiasm for learning how AI tools can be used to improve processes and drive efficiency. Interest in exploring AI systems and a willingness to develop awareness of responsible AI practices, including risk management and ethical use, * Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) from an accredited college/university

  • Employee discount, For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $135,700.00 - $196,750.00, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation.
