Job description
- Supervise and support staff within the Closing Department, fostering a high-performance and accountable team environment.
- Monitor and manage individual caseloads for closing agents to ensure timely processing and balanced workloads.
- Prioritize cases based on urgency, demand, and firm objectives.
- Conduct weekly meetings with the Closing Department POD (after Monday 10:00 AM meetings) to review performance, address challenges, and implement improvements.
- Ensure all minor settlements comply with applicable state laws and protocols.
- Track, monitor, and report weekly metrics, including:
- Cases received
- Cases disbursed
- Productivity per closing agent
- Collaborate weekly with the Office Manager to address departmental or cross-functional concerns.
- Identify and reduce backlog of settled cases, implementing process improvements where necessary.
- Assist with closing files in coordination with assigned case managers as needed.
- Ensure all closing agents meet established weekly quotas and performance standards.
- Review and approve settlement statements prior to disbursement after legal assistant completion.
- Confirm that attorneys and/or supervisors have reviewed, approved, and provided comments on software before settlement statements are processed.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Legal case management?, Friedland Law is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Supervisor to lead our Closing, Settlement, and Disbursements Department within a fast-paced personal injury law firm. This role is responsible for overseeing daily closing operations, ensuring compliance with state regulations, managing team performance, and driving efficiency in the preparation and disbursement of closing statements.
The ideal candidate is a strong leader with personal injury experience, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to manage high case volumes while maintaining accuracy and compliance., * 3+ years of experience in a personal injury law firm, preferably in settlements, disbursements, or closing.
- Prior supervisory or team lead experience strongly preferred.
- Bilingual (Spanish) preferred
- Strong knowledge of settlement statement preparation and disbursement processes.
- Familiarity with state-specific requirements for minor settlements and compliance standards.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to manage high-volume workflows and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and leadership abilities.
- Proficiency in case management systems and Microsoft Office (Excel preferred)
