Job description

Are you the kind of engineer who takes pride in getting the details right? Do you prefer to work from facts, codes, and sound analysis rather than assumptions? Are you someone who approaches problems methodically, follows them through completely, and values producing work that is technically accurate, well-documented, and dependable?

If so, Maxson Engineering may be the right place for you. We are seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer who brings strong technical ability, careful analytical thinking, and a commitment to quality to complex building system design projects. This role is ideal for an engineer who is dependable, detail-oriented, and motivated by producing work that is accurate, defensible, and complete.

THE ROLE - WHAT YOU’LL DO AND WHY YOU’LL EXCEL

Working alongside Project Managers and the broader design team, you will provide mechanical design support for a range of sophisticated government and private-sector projects, including aerospace, biopharma, and mission critical facilities. Because you work best independently and apply sound engineering judgment, you can work through technical ambiguity through it systematically until you have a defendable solution.

Because precision is non-negotiable for you, the designs, calculations, and documentation you produce will be technically correct and thoroughly complete. And because you take pride in precision and consistent follow through, your work will be standard others are measured against. Requirements:

You will:

  • Provide mechanical design support for typical building mechanical systems with an emphasis on HVAC systems
  • Apply working knowledge of relevant building codes to ensure designs are compliant and defensible
  • Use Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD to produce technically accurate design documentation
  • Verify and validate design decisions through research, code review, and technical analysis
  • Collaborate with Project Managers while maintaining ownership and quality of your design work
  • Apply specialty mechanical knowledge including plumbing and fire protection services where applicable
