Job description

To plan, design, develop, maintain, and launch efficient information systems in support of core organizational functions., * Research, identify, analyze, and fulfill requirements of all internal and external program users.

  • Train end users to operate new or modified programs.
  • Accurately document systems, applications, processes, scripts, and business processes.
  • Assist in the planning, design, development, of new applications and enhancements to existing applications.
  • Meet with decision makers, systems owners, and end users to define business requirements and systems goals, and identify and resolve business systems issues.
  • Review and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems and develop strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems.
  • Assist in the deployment of new applications and enhancements to existing applications.
  • Coordinate and perform in-depth tests, including end-user reviews, for modified and new systems.
  • Ensure adherence to good safety standards.
  • Meet and deal effectively with staff members, administrators and other contact persons using tact and good judgment.
  • Exhibit interpersonal skills to work as an effective team member.
  • Model and maintain high ethical standards.
  • Represent the district in a positive and professional manner.
  • Demonstrate initiative in the performance of assigned responsibilities.
  • Respond to inquiries and concerns in a timely manner.
  • Communicate effectively with staff, administration, and vendors.
  • Keep supervisor informed of potential problems or unusual events.
  • Follow federal and state laws as well as school board policies, rules, and regulations.
  • Demonstrate support for the school district and its goals and objectives.
  • Prepare all required reports and maintain all appropriate records.
  • Participate successfully in the training programs offered to increase skill and proficiency related to assignment.
  • Review current developments, literature and technical sources of information related to job responsibility.
  • As technology systems evolve duties, responsibilities, and activities may change and new ones may be assigned at any time.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force as frequently as needed to move objects.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Salary and benefits shall be paid consistent with the District’s approved compensation plan. Length of the work year and hours of employment shall be those established by the District.

Requirements

Do you have a valid Driver’s License license?, Do you have experience in SSRS?, Do you have a High school diploma or GED?, * Bachelor’s degree in computer science, management information systems, business administration, or related field from an accredited educational institution, or associate’s degree and five years of experience, or high school diploma or equivalent and seven years of experience in a related field required.

  • Minimum of three (3) years of successful experience using PostgreSQL in a production environment. o Minimum of three (3) years of successful experience using SRS (SQL Server Reporting Services). # Valid Florida Driver’s License or will obtain within 30 days of hire.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Considerable independent judgment in recommending courses of action to satisfy users’ needs in the most effective manner. Thorough knowledge of database systems and the integration of enterprise applications Ability to analyze and assess existing information systems and the integrations of enterprise applications. Assist in defining software development project plans, including scoping, scheduling, and implementation. Assist in the definition, development, and documentation of software business requirements, objectives, deliverables, and specifications on a project-by-project basis in collaboration with internal users, departments, and approved vendors. Ability to collaborate with developers, programmers, and designers in conceptualizing and development of new software programs and applications. Ability to meet and deal tactfully with departmental officials, other administrative personnel and employees of the School Board. Ability to express oneself clearly and concisely, orally and in writing, and to understand and adhere to technical directives and instructions. Ability to take initiative to begin projects without supervision. Skills in reading, interpreting, and applying information in technical manuals and other documents. Ability to carry out job responsibilities and handle sensitive information in a confidential manner. Ability to work independently and to make decisions with minimum supervision. Ability to tolerate highly stressful situations. Ability to schedule time, prioritize, and work efficiently.
