AEM ASSETS MIGRATION CONSULTANT

We are seeking an efficient, highly organized AEM Assets Migration Consultant for a one-year, fractional engagement averaging 25 hours per month.

This role focuses on executing the migration and structural reorganization of approximately 70,000 individual assets from a legacy, on-premises AEM instance to a net-new AEM Cloud Service environment. Given the targeted monthly hours, this role is less about manual asset shifting and entirely about smart execution, bulk automation, and architectural precision. You will take a pre-defined plan from our metadata expert, build out a streamlined folder structure, update metadata schemas, and utilize bulk tools to ensure all assets are migrated and tagged accurately.

Responsibilities:

• Structure & Schema Configuration: Build out the net-new, streamlined folder structures and update metadata schemas within AEM Cloud Service based on the expert’s blueprint.
• Bulk Migration & Automation: Configure and execute bulk asset migration pathways (e.g., AEM Content Transfer Tool, Bulk Import, or ingest packets) to move 70,000 assets efficiently within the monthly time allotment.
• Automated Metadata Mapping: Apply updated metadata schemas and tagging to the asset library at scale, leveraging AEM processing profiles, CSV metadata imports, or metadata schemas to avoid manual entry.
• Migration Advisory: Provide targeted, practical advice to the internal team on cloud migration best practices, risk mitigation, and asset validation.
• Progress Auditing: Conduct spot-checks and quality assurance tracking to ensure the automated migration preserves data integrity and conforms to the new taxonomy.

Do you have experience in Implementing cloud migration projects?, * AEM Assets Administration: 3-5 years of hands-on experience administering Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) Assets, with clear exposure to both legacy on-prem and AEM Cloud Service (AEMaaCS).

• Migration Experience: Proven track record of participating in past AEM asset migrations. Experience with legacy-to-cloud transitions and structural transformations is a must.
• Bulk Ingestion Master: Deep, practical expertise using AEM bulk tools (Bulk Import tool, CSV asset metadata import, Package Manager) to manipulate large asset volumes quickly and cleanly.
• High Efficiency & Autonomy: Since this is a 20-hour-per-month role, you must be a self-starter who can take a plan, execute it independently, and maximize your logged hours without needing micromanagement.
