Job description

As a ServiceNow Senior Technical Lead (developer), you will be responsible for leading the design, development, and delivery of secure, high-performing ServiceNow applications and integrations that underpin DWP’s Adaptive Cybersecurity Ecosystem and Intelligent Service Performance Ecosystem. You’ll combine advanced ServiceNow development skills with a strong understanding of security controls, automation, and risk management or IT operations to deliver enterprise-grade solutions that are robust, resilient, and compliant.

You will work closely with our Architecture, Security, and Engineering communities to shape the platform roadmap, develop technical patterns, and ensure all solutions are built with “secure-by-design” principles. With a focus on operational stability, performance, and security, you will lead technical decision-making and ensure best practice is embedded across the development lifecycle.

This role is ideal for a ServiceNow expert with proven experience across Security Operations and Risk applications, who can guide teams in delivering solutions that strengthen DWP’s cyber resilience and risk posture., As a ServiceNow Senior Technical Lead (developer) your responsibilities will include:

  • Provide expert ServiceNow and either cybersecurity or IT operations domain knowledge to project teams, advising on complex platform implementations, integrations, and design challenges.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, aligning on priorities and agreeing on approaches to ServiceNow development, tooling, and strategy improvements.
  • Advise on issues arising from ServiceNow work programmes or from the implementation of new security or risk management capabilities, making balanced and pragmatic recommendations.
  • Manage performance and progress against the ServiceNow technical roadmap within your area of responsibility, ensuring alignment to platform architecture and security principles.
  • Advise senior DWP stakeholders on the development and evolution of the ServiceNow platform strategy, including the feasibility of enhancements, estimated timescales, and delivery options.
  • Collaborate with production, security, and infrastructure teams to ensure ServiceNow solutions are secure, resilient, performant, and available at scale.
