· Travel to sites nationwide to carry out installations, equipment replacements, upgrades, fault diagnosis and repairs with minimal disruption to business operations.

· Support new store acquisitions and refurbishments by preparing, deploying and testing IT equipment and network connectivity.

· Troubleshoot hardware, software and network issues on site, escalating more complex problems where appropriate and ensuring timely resolution.

· Assist with user support for core business systems and Microsoft technologies, including Windows 11 and Microsoft 365 applications.

· Carry out basic network cabling, patching and tests to support reliable site infrastructure.

· Maintain accurate records of installations, asset movements, repairs, site visits and technical documentation.

· Work closely with the wider IT team, third-party suppliers and site managers to deliver support, upgrades and project work to a high standard.

· Follow company health and safety procedures when working on site, using tools, lifting equipment and carrying out physical installations.

Requirements

· Proven and previous hands-on experience in an IT field support, field engineering or site-based IT role is essential.

· Strong practical knowledge of installing, configuring and supporting desktop and laptop hardware, peripherals and mobile devices.

· Working knowledge of EPOS systems, including installation, configuration, support and basic troubleshooting.

· Experience of network cabling, patching, installation and basic network troubleshooting.

· Ability to diagnose and resolve hardware, software and connectivity issues efficiently and methodically.

· Good working knowledge of Windows 11 and Microsoft 365 applications.

· Understanding of switches, routers, wireless access points and general LAN/WAN concepts.

· Ability to document work completed accurately, including asset updates, support notes and installation records.

· Basic knowledge of Active Directory, user account administration and device setup would be advantageous.

· Experience supporting multi-site retail, hospitality or distributed business environments would be beneficial.

Person Specification

· Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills, with a practical and methodical approach.

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to support users at all levels of the business.

· Well organised, self-motivated and able to manage workload effectively while travelling between sites.

· Reliable, professional and committed to delivering a high standard of customer service.

· Able to learn quickly and adapt to new systems, technologies and changing business priorities.

· Physically capable of carrying out hands-on installation work and equipment handling.
