IT Field Engineer

As a Field (IMAC) Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering on-site technical services, installations, projects and customer onboarding activities across our client base. You will act as the face of Workplace IT Technologies, building trusted relationships with clients whilst ensuring the successful delivery of support, deployment and project services., Provide professional on-site technical support, troubleshooting and technical assistance across client locations. Respond to urgent site visits and major incidents when required. Deliver scheduled floor-walking and end-user support services. Install, configure and deploy laptops, desktops, monitors, telephony equipment and associated peripherals. Support office relocations, desk moves, technology refresh programmes and site migrations. Install, configure and troubleshoot Cat5e / Cat6 and wireless network infrastructure. Assist with Microsoft 365, Intune, Autopilot and endpoint deployment projects. Support customer onboarding activities, acquisitions and the integration of new sites into existing IT environments. Build trusted relationships with client stakeholders and become a valued extension of their internal teams. Maintain accurate records of all activity within our service management platform and documentation systems. Work closely with Service Desk, Provisioning and Project teams to ensure successful service delivery. Provide support to the Service Desk and Provisioning teams when not travelling. Follow Workplace IT operational processes, CAF controls, security standards and customer-specific requirements.

Minimum three years’ experience working within an MSP, IT Support or Field Engineering environment. Good knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration and troubleshooting. Experience supporting Windows 11 environments. Experience deploying and supporting laptops, desktops, tablets and mobile devices. Experience with Microsoft Intune and Windows Autopilot would be advantageous. Understanding of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, switching, routing and wireless technologies. Experience installing, patching, terminating and testing Cat5e and Cat6 cabling. Experience supporting routers, switches and wireless networking solutions. Excellent troubleshooting and fault-finding skills. Strong customer service and communication skills. Experience working within structured operational processes and documentation standards. Ability to work independently, manage travel commitments and remain organised in a fast-paced environment. A positive, reliable and professional approach to work. Full UK driving licence.

Working Pattern Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:30pm. Flexibility is required to accommodate customer travel, project work, early starts, late finishes and occasional overnight stays.

Travel Requirements Approximately 75% customer site travel. Primary coverage area will include South England, South Wales and London. Occasional travel to Workplace IT Technologies King’s Lynn office and customer sites throughout the UK. Occasional overnight stays.
