Job description
We are seeking energetic, passionate people who enjoy the outdoors and want to play a key role for the position of Software Development Specialist 2 - 20083061 within the Office of Information Technology, headquartered at Fountain Square Central Office in Franklin County. The address is 2045 Morse Road, Columbus, Ohio 43229.
What you will do…
- Develops web-based & standalone software applications
- Performs post production support for business applications which may include routine maintenance, enhancements & the need to perform research to aid in troubleshooting software production errors
- Performs software implementation tasks, including source control & deployment activities
- Assists with development, implementation, & monitoring IT quality assurance standards & testing
- Leads discussion(s) or formal meetings with technical &/or non-technical personnel on simple to moderate technical topics in support of software development
- The primary technology for this position is Microsoft Azure. The secondary technology is Salesforce.
- May require travel. May be expected to work some evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Starting hourly pay of $38.01/hr with multiple pay increases over your first 7.5 years of service, with an end salary of $55.80/hr.

There may also be cost of living adjustments (COLA) applied. Longevity pay supplements begin after five (5) years of state service. For more details, refer to the OCSEA pay range schedule & longevity rates OCSEA Employees Department of Administrative Services.
Requirements

48 mos. combined work experience in any combination of the following: designing and performing systems analysis, developing and/or modifying programs for computer applications recommending application solutions and/or testing and correcting programs as it relates to testing and implementation and assisting with documentation including 12 mos. work experience in the primary technology as specified by the agency position description & job posting (Microsoft Azure).

Or completion of associate core program in computer science or information systems AND 30 mos. combined work experience in any combination of the following: designing and performing systems analysis, developing and/or modifying programs for computer applications recommending application solutions and/or testing and correcting programs as it relates to testing and implementation and assisting with documentation including 12 mos. work experience in the primary technology as specified by the agency position description & job posting (Microsoft Azure).

Or completion of undergraduate core program in computer science or information systems AND 24 mos. combined work experience in any combination of the following: designing and performing systems analysis, developing and/or modifying programs for computer applications recommending application solutions and/or testing and correcting programs as it relates to testing and implementation and assisting with documentation including 12 mos. work experience in the primary technology as specified by the agency position description & job posting (Microsoft Azure).
