Job description

This entry level position is primarily responsible for producing effective database systems according to the company’s needs and specifications. This includes design, development, programming, debugging, maintenance, optimization, collaboration, backup management and more.

Duties include:

  1. Creating new database structures and designing data models.

  2. Writing and optimizing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and triggers.

  3. Monitoring, debugging, and improving database performance and scalability.

  4. Running performance testing procedures to ensure proper operation.

  5. Writing documentation about the system and its implementation.

  6. Developing and maintaining other tools that will interact with the database.

  7. Implementing security measures and ensuring data accuracy and consistency.

  8. Working with developers, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data needs.

  9. Managing backups, recovery, updates, and migrations.

Requirements

  1. Strong knowledge of SQL, VBA, and relevant scripting and programming languages.

  2. Demonstrated track record of exceptional problem-solving within a sophisticated operating environment and be able to implement rapid turn-around plans.

  3. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.

  4. Must be computer literate, with strong spreadsheet and word processing knowledge: MSWord, Excel (Advanced formulas and Power Query are a plus, Charts and Pivot Tables not necessary), Outlook, internet browsers

  5. Driver’s License required.

Education/Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field is preferred

Experience and familiarity with relevant coding languages is necessary
