Job description

The Technical Specialist in Mainframe Cobol, DB2, VSAM, JCL, Mainframe CICS will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining mainframe applications using various technologies. The role involves ensuring the stability and performance of mainframe systems while collaborating with cross functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions., 1. Develop and maintain mainframe applications using cobol, db2, vsam, jcl, and cics technologies.

  1. Collaborate with other teams to analyze and address technical issues related to mainframe systems.
  2. Design and implement enhancements and modifications to existing mainframe applications.
  3. Perform testing and debugging of mainframe programs to ensure accuracy and integrity.
  4. Monitor the performance of mainframe systems and optimize as required.
  5. Provide technical support and expertise to internal teams as needed.

Requirements

Do you have experience in System design?, Good experience in IBM Mainframe (z/OS) areas Good knowledge in IBM COBOL, JCL, File Systems Good experience in maintaining and developing applications in COBOL Experience in IMS database is preferred Experience with support and system administration activities Good communication and manage client interactions Having experience or ability to learn new areas like Micro Focus, MQ, VPSX, PCX, Autosys etc. Experience in Python and .net is beneficial Preference for the people in pacific time or mountain time as the batch applications run during the evening Resolve customer satisfaction issues and respond on-time to customer queries Flexible to support non-traditional work hours for on call support and resolution Good Analytical skills with right professional attitude, 1. Proficiency in mainframe cobol, db2, vsam, jcl, and mainframe cics programming languages.

  1. Strong understanding of mainframe architecture and technologies.
  2. Experience in designing and developing mainframe applications.
  3. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in a timely manner.
  4. Good communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with team members.
  5. Attention to detail and ability to work independently or in a team environment.
