Senior Software Engineer

A well-funded, Series B legaltech startup is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join their growing engineering team in New York City. This company is redefining legal services by combining AI with human expertise - helping businesses review and negotiate contracts in hours rather than days. You’ll be a full-stack engineer with a frontend emphasis, building intelligent, lawyer-facing tools that power a cutting-edge contract review platform.

This is a pivotal early engineering role where you’ll work closely with leadership to shape the technical foundation of the product. Visa sponsorship is available.

What You’ll Do

• Design, build, and deploy scalable systems and agentic AI tools to accelerate contract review workflows.
• Own end-to-end product development across the stack, with a strong focus on intuitive, lawyer-facing interfaces.
• Collaborate directly with founders to define technical priorities and establish a robust, maintainable codebase.
• Develop and integrate large language model (LLM)-powered tools into the core platform.
• Contribute to a high-energy, in-person engineering culture focused on shipping quickly and iterating fast.
• Mentor junior engineers and help recruit talent as the team scales.

Do you have experience in TypeScript?, Must-haves:

• 3+ years of full-stack development experience.
• Proficiency in TypeScript and Python.
• Hands-on experience with modern frontend frameworks - React, Vue, or Svelte.
• Experience building frontend AI tools, agents, or interfaces.
• Prior experience at a high-growth, venture-backed startup.
• Willingness and ability to work on-site at the NYC office.

Nice to have:

• Experience with LLM integrations and building agentic workflows.
• Demonstrated interest in AI applications within the legal or professional services space.
• Familiarity with Go or Rust., This role is on-site in New York City. Candidates must be willing to work from the NYC office full-time.

$250,000 - $300,000 a year - Full-time, * Salary: $250,000 - $300,000 USD annually
