Job description

Position Overview: Evoke Technologies is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to join our cloud and infrastructure consulting practice. In this role, you will act as a core technical resource on a high-visibility client integration and separation project, driving the planning, coordination, engineering, and execution required to transition a sprawling enterprise landscape into a standardized SD-WAN and SASE model. You will work within an accountable Evoke delivery team to ensure a secure, stable, and controlled network transition that minimizes business disruption., * Network Discovery & Audit: Validate the client’’s current-state network environments across multiple site categories, reviewing circuit types, site tiers, existing network services, and inherited dependencies.

  • Deployment Engineering: Develop site-specific technical deployment designs and inputs, aligning branch routing, micro-segmentation, firewalls, and connectivity requirements to the target architecture.
  • Configuration & Execution: Prepare engineering-ready configuration requirements for edge devices, firewalls, and circuits.
  • Cross-Provider Coordination: Support integration with the broader managed network model, working alongside circuit management, centralized Fortinet firewall management, and external implementation partners.
  • Cutover & Validation: Plan, schedule, and execute site cutovers during approved change windows. Conduct rigorous post-deployment technical validation (failover behavior, routing, critical application access).
  • Defect Remediation: Actively maintain technical issue logs, identifying, escalating, and resolving deployment blockers or post-cutover network stability bugs.
  • Knowledge Transfer: Build and enhance robust network engineering runbooks and technical documentation to support a smooth final handoff to the client’s steady-state operations team.

Requirements

  • Strong technical background in WAN/edge engineering, branch networking, and executing large-scale SD-WAN rollouts.
  • Hands-on engineering proficiency with Fortinet / FortiGate solutions (firewall configuration, routing, and segmentation within an SD-WAN environment).
  • Strong understanding of Meraki branch networking environments and associated transition strategies.
  • Proven experience managing circuit coordination, technical pre-requisites, and network validation testing.
  • Location & Travel: Based out of the Dayton, OH area, with the flexibility to travel to regional site locations as needed to oversee physical cutovers, testing, and critical site deployments.
