Job description
As a Senior IT & Infrastructure Engineer with our SF Bay Area client, you will be the engineer keeping their mid-peninsula engineering organization running, owning AWS systems, monitoring, lab equipment, and the internal IT services that engineering depends on every day. You will work hands-on across Linux administration, build pipelines, virtualization, AWS, lab operations, and tier-1 internal support, and partner closely with our 5G DevOps counterpart in Romania on shared infrastructure standards. This is a broad, hands-on role for someone energized by being the person engineers come to when things need to work. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES What You’ll Do: * Architect with Purpose: Design cloud-native infrastructure in AWS that scales seamlessly across regions and workloads. * Automate Relentlessly: Build Terraform modules and tooling to make infrastructure creation fast, safe, and repeatable. * Engineer for Reliability: Implement fault-tolerant, self-healing systems to minimize downtime
Requirements
Do you have experience in Virtualization tools?, and maximize performance. * Secure from the Start: Embed IAM, networking, and observability into every layer of the stack. * Optimize and Evolve: Continuously refine cost, performance, and deployment workflows as we scale. What You Bring: * 3-5 years of experience building and managing AWS environments. * Deep knowledge of Terraform and Infrastructure-as-Code best practices. * Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker), and monitoring stacks. * A systems thinker who thrives on structure, scalability, and clean automation. * Curiosity, initiative, and a drive to build things that just work. Why You’ll Love Working Here: * Build foundational infrastructure that powers cutting-edge AI products. * Work with a brilliant, passionate team that values both speed and precision. * Competitive salary, equity, and career growth opportunities in a fast-scaling startup. * Flexible, trust-based culture-autonomy encouraged, bureaucracy not included. * Great benefits package and a prime Cambridge office location. SHOULD HAVE ATTRIBUTES/SKILLS * - Experience coordinating with external IT vendors and managing compliance-adjacent IT projects (security audits, vendor management). * - Experience operating in a regulated or compliance-sensitive engineering environment. * - Exposure to early-stage or high-growth startup environments. * - Experience supporting firmware or embedded engineering teams, including hardware-in-the-loop (HITL) test integration into build pipelines. * - Familiarity with 5G or LTE telecommunications at a working level. * - Operational experience with lab equipment, test rigs, or robotics infrastructure in an engineering organization. * - Working familiarity with code quality and static analysis tooling (SonarScanner, Pytest). * - Familiarity with Elasticsearch operations (client’s legacy systems; may require migration or retirement).
