Job description

Supervises an information technology technical support team. Provides work direction and guidance to information technology technical support team members. Provides assistance to information technology support team members. Monitors the performance of, provides performance feedback to, and handles performance-related issues involving, each information technology technical support team member. Mentors and trains information technology support team members. Determines work schedules for information technology support team members. Provides customer service to users who have technical issues with information technology hardware and software. Troubleshoots technical issues with information technology hardware and software. Identifies issues with information technology hardware and software that should be forwarded to an information technology specialist or service provider. Stays current on changing information technology hardware and software. PHYSICAL CLASS Physical Class II - Light: This class includes administrative and clerical positions requiring light physical effort that may include occasional light lifting to a 10-pound limit and some bending, stooping, or squatting. Considerable ambulation may be involved. SPECIAL REQUIREMENT INFORMATION A centralized Information Technology (IT) organization is defined as a structure which is under the direction or guidance of a chief Information Technology official for the department or major organizational unit, and is responsible for providing comprehensive IT services including analysis, design, acquisition, and/or development, implementation, maintenance, or support of information systems; and in which the work performed is in direct relationship to the IT requirements and initiatives of the department or major organizational unit. **You may still qualify even if your job title isn’t exactly the same as the ones listed. Requirements

OPTION I: Three (3) years of experience installing, configuring, testing, troubleshooting and repairing client computing devices or software, in a centralized Information Technology organization; one (1) year of which MUST have been in a highly responsible capacity at the level of Los Angeles County’s class of Senior Information Technology Technical Support Analyst . OPTION II: Four (4) years of experience installing, configuring, testing, troubleshooting and repairing client computing devices or software in a help desk/desktop support role with a minimum of two (2) years as a senior or lead working in an enterprise corporate environment.
