Job description

  • Lead and supervise the Network Systems team, including hiring, training, performance management, and daily operational oversight.
  • Design, implement, and maintain MPLS-based networks, routers, switches, firewalls, wireless networks, microwave systems, radio networks, and network security infrastructure.
  • Manage network services and systems including DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, VPNs, AAA servers, voice systems, video conferencing platforms, and network monitoring tools.
  • Ensure network reliability, security, performance, and compliance with industry standards.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders, member cooperatives, commercial customers, and vendors.
  • Provide technical leadership for transport and telecommunications network engineering projects.

Requirements

  • Advanced networking and telecommunications knowledge, including:
  • MPLS, DWDM, Ethernet, IP routing, VLANs, QoS
  • VPN, IPSec, GRE, IKE, SSL, RADIUS
  • DNS, DHCP, Active Directory
  • Routers, switches, firewalls, and network security technologies
  • Experience troubleshooting complex IP and optical transport systems.
  • Ability to interpret network design documentation, blueprints, and technical specifications., * Bachelor’’s degree in Networking, Telecommunications, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 7-10 years of networking, telecommunications, or IT experience.
  • Prior supervisory or management experience preferred.
  • Vendor certifications are desirable but not required., * Must maintain a valid driver’’s license.
  • Ability to participate in 24/7 on-call support and respond to emergency situations.
  • Travel within the company’’s service territory with occasional out-of-state travel.
  • Position is designated as safety-sensitive due to responsibility for critical infrastructure and communication systems., A senior-level network professional with strong leadership skills and extensive experience managing enterprise network infrastructure, telecommunications systems, network security, and technical teams in a mission-critical environment.
