Engineer and Technical Support Officer

We are recruiting a Field Service Engineer / Technical Service Operator to support the installation, maintenance, and servicing of automated healthcare systems used within hospital environments.

This is a hands-on engineering role combining equipment installation, preventative maintenance, fault finding, and technical support on advanced automated systems used in patient care.

You’ll be working as part of a specialist engineering team ensuring systems are installed correctly, maintained to high standards, and kept fully operational across hospital sites., Installation & Commissioning

• Install and commission automated healthcare equipment within hospital environments
• Configure, calibrate and test systems prior to go-live
• Support project teams during system installations and upgrades
• Ensure equipment is installed safely and in line with technical specifications

Maintenance & Technical Support

• Carry out preventative maintenance and routine servicing on automated systems
• Perform fault finding, diagnostics, and repairs across mechanical, electrical, and software components
• Provide technical support to clinical and engineering teams when issues arise
• Maintain accurate service reports, maintenance logs, and technical documentation
• Ensure systems operate within agreed service level agreements (SLAs)

Customer & Operational Support

• Work closely with pharmacists, nurses, engineers, and hospital staff to support system operation
• Build strong relationships with site teams to ensure smooth service delivery
• Participate in an on-call rota to provide out-of-hours technical support when required

Do you have experience in Software troubleshooting?, We are looking for engineers with experience in maintenance, servicing, or installation of technical equipment or automated systems.

Essential Skills

• Experience in maintenance, repair, or servicing of technical / automated equipment
• Strong fault finding and diagnostic skills
• Experience working with mechanical and electrical systems
• Ability to troubleshoot hardware and software issues
• Comfortable using Excel or basic reporting systems
• Good communication skills and ability to work with technical and non-technical teams

Desirable

• Experience as a Field Service Engineer, Maintenance Engineer, Electro-Mechanical Engineer, or Equipment Engineer
• Experience working in healthcare, manufacturing, automation, or technical service environments
• Experience supporting automated machinery or technical equipment
