Job description

We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Systems Developer with strong expertise in COBOL, Assembler, C, DB2, JES2/JES3, ISPF, and REXX to support and maintain critical enterprise mainframe applications. The ideal candidate will be responsible for application maintenance, troubleshooting, system integration, code reviews, testing, automation, and collaboration with cross-functional teams., * Perform regular maintenance and provide technical support for existing mainframe applications written in COBOL, Assembler, C, and DB2.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues to ensure minimal disruption to business operations.
  • Participate in code reviews to ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
  • Develop and execute test plans to ensure application quality, reliability, and performance.
  • Work with JES2/JES3 subsystem environments, including job flow analysis, troubleshooting, and spool management.
  • Support system integration activities and work with SAPI/SSI 79/SSI 80 interfaces where required.
  • Develop, customize, and enhance ISPF panels and dialogs to support application interfaces.
  • Utilize REXX scripting for automation, tooling enhancements, and ISPF dialog coding.
  • Collaborate with project managers, business analysts, QA teams, and other developers to deliver solutions.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of incidents, resolutions, and system performance reports.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Software documentation?, * Strong experience with COBOL, Assembler, C, JCL, and DB2

  • Hands-on experience in JES2/JES3 environments
  • Knowledge of ISPF panel development and dialog management
  • Experience with REXX scripting and automation
  • Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills
  • Excellent communication and documentation abilities
