Job description

The Ambulatory Operational Workflow Analyst will serve as a functional leader and expert in a variety of tasks including operational workflow analysis and assessment, data collection and examination, education planning, user training and support, and ongoing ambulatory workflow maintenance and support. He/she will lead the work to design new, future state processes that take advantage of the Ambulatory information systems’ capabilities to streamline current processes, remove identified inefficiencies and bottlenecks, and maintain a high level of support patient safety, business, and quality goals. This position will provide operational workflow support to PHP Group offices as well as act as a liaison among physicians, office staff, Ambulatory Informatics, and other departments as necessary. This is an exempt position.

Requirements

  • Good understanding of ambulatory operational workflows
  • Excellent understanding of clinical and front office staff competencies and scope of practice
  • Able to plan, organize, control and evaluate
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications- Visio, Excel, Access, Word and Outlook
  • Very strong analytical skills to collect and research data
  • Strong problem solving skills to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
  • Ability to demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness, exhibits sound and accurate judgement
  • Excellent customer service and conflict resolution skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment and create and maintain team spirit and motivation
  • Reacts well under pressure, treating others with respect and consideration
  • Able to deal with frequent change or unexpected events
  • Strong ability to work on multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously
  • Must be able to work independently to carry out work efforts, using time efficiently

Required Experience

Required:

  • High School diploma
  • 1+ years of clinical systems experience (Allscripts TouchWorks/Outpatient EHR preferred)
  • Minimum two years’ experience performing from and/or back office functions in the medical office setting
  • Excellent work ethic

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree, in a healthcare setting; work experience will be considered in lieu of degree
  • Certification from an accredited Medical Assistant Program or higher level of education or clinical experience
  • Experience working on project teams
