Power BI Performance Monitor

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Insights Lead to shape and lead the Council’s organisational performance and insight agenda and be a vital part of our transformation programme. You will work closely with senior managers, Councillors and partners to develop and embed a robust performance framework that ensures the Council’s vision and priorities are translated into measurable outcomes. A key focus of the role is strengthening the Council’s use of data, insight and evaluation to support transformation, improve decision-making and demonstrate impact.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Power BI?, You will have strong analytical expertise and a proven track record of using insight to drive organisational improvement, ideally within a public sector or complex environment. Skilled at translating complex data into clear narratives through storytelling, you will influence and challenge at senior levels, promote data literacy across the organisation and champion evidence-based decision-making. With experience of advanced analysis, performance reporting (including tools such as Power BI), and evaluation, you will also line-manage and develop a small team, helping to build a strong insight culture that underpins the council’s Data, Digital and Technology ambitions.

You must be fluent in the English language (as a requirement of Part 7 of the Immigration Act ā€œfor the effective performance of a customer-facing roleā€).

Benefits & conditions

The team operates a hybrid working model with all officers expected to be in the office for a minimum of two days per week.

We are not considering applications where there is a requirement to sponsor a work visa for successful applicants.

Your next package

As an employee, you will receive a diverse and exciting environment in which to work, encouraging creativity and innovation whilst recognising the need to support ongoing personal development and a flexible work life balance.

So, you’ll be joining us at an exciting time on our journey. We’ll look to you to share your knowledge, influence decisions and drive real, positive change. With your contributions, we’ll achieve our vision of a prosperous, re-vitalised Swindon together. And you’ll be proud to say it was made better with you.

Please see our Vision and Values page for more details and our new Swindon Plan.
