Job description

As an IT Administrator, you will help maintain and improve the company’s IT infrastructure, ensuring systems remain secure, reliable and efficient. You will support both on-premise and cloud-based environments while working closely with teams across the business., Infrastructure & Systems

  • Maintain and support Windows and Linux servers
  • Monitor performance and availability of IT systems
  • Carry out updates, patching and routine maintenance
  • Support storage and core infrastructure environments
  • Monitor system alerts and resolve issues proactively Virtualisation & Cloud

  • Manage VMware virtual environments
  • Build and maintain virtual machines and server clusters
  • Support cloud platforms including Azure, Microsoft 365 and hybrid environments
  • Maintain user access, permissions and cloud security controls Networking & Connectivity

  • Support LAN, WAN, wireless networks, VLANs, firewalls and VPN connectivity
  • Troubleshoot network and connectivity issues
  • Maintain network documentation and system records
  • Support upgrades and infrastructure improvements Backup, Security & Recovery

  • Manage backup systems and disaster recovery processes
  • Maintain cybersecurity controls and patch management
  • Support compliance requirements including Cyber Essentials and GDPR
  • Monitor vulnerabilities and implement improvements IT Support & Improvement

  • Act as an escalation point for infrastructure issues
  • Investigate root causes and implement long-term fixes
  • Support IT projects including upgrades and migrations
  • Research and recommend new technologies
  • Support additional IT assets including telephones and security systems
  • Produce reports and business analytics where required Additional Responsibilities

  • Prioritise and manage multiple tasks effectively
  • Build strong working relationships across departments
  • Participate in on-call support outside normal working hours when required
  • Provide remote, phone or on-site support during critical incidents

Requirements

Do you have experience in Windows?, If you have experience supporting business systems, infrastructure, networking and cloud environments - we’d like to hear from you., We are looking for someone who has:

  • Previous experience as a System Administrator, IT Administrator or similar role
  • Strong knowledge of Windows Server environments
  • Experience supporting network infrastructure and cybersecurity
  • Good understanding of TCP/IP, DNS and DHCP
  • Experience with Cisco networking equipment (including Meraki)
  • Experience with cloud technologies such as Azure and Microsoft 365
  • Knowledge of automation or scripting (PowerShell desirable)
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused approach
