Job description

The Strategic Account Manager will drive growth within key accounts across the data center markets. This role requires strong technical experience selling into the white space of data centers (racks, cabling, servers, transceivers, etc), the ability to navigate complex organizations, and a proven track record of developing and expanding Tier 1 accounts.

The ideal candidate brings a deep understanding of industry trends, experience working with engineers and product teams, and an established network of decision-makers and influencers. This individual excels at both hunting (new business) and farming (account growth), with a focus on profitable, long-term partnerships.

Key Responsibilities

Meet or exceed assigned revenue targets within defined markets

Drive new business through outbound prospecting, social selling, and industry engagement

Build and manage a strong sales pipeline across new, growth, and existing accounts

Lead customer engagement across multiple channels (phone, video, email, web)

Qualify opportunities through discovery and develop tailored solutions for customer needs

Process RFQs, generate quotes, and manage opportunities through close

Collaborate with internal teams to deliver customized solutions for complex customer requirements

Provide regular reporting on pipeline, forecasts, and sales activity

Represent the business at trade shows, industry events, and customer meetings

Resolve customer issues professionally and maintain strong ongoing relationships

This role pays between $120-145K with uncapped commission. This role will sit remotely in Dallas, San Jose, or the Tri State or DMV Areas

Requirements

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to travel 50-75% of the time

  • Extensive hardware sales experience selling into the white space of the data center (racks, cabling, transceivers, servers, etc)

  • An existing rolodex of clients and currently managing $10MM in Data Center spend

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience

  • Candidate will have strong interpersonal skills and business acumen with a customer-centric focus and urgency to meet strategic objectives.

  • The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of strategic sales experience, technical sales background, extensive phone contact, account development, and a proven track record in profitable growth.

  • Technical sales to meet customer needs, experience with subsystems and integrated solutions, In-depth knowledge of product lines and processes, market trends, and the marketplace.

  • Professional communication skills, written and spoken English, including correct usage of grammar and sentence structure, and appropriate professional messaging and tone.

  • The ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

  • General computer skills, including a solid working knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook, MS Teams,

  • Experience working in a fast-paced sales environment.

  • Experience with a CRM system preferred.
