Netapp/Ontap Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Senior NetApp Storage Engineer to support and enhance a large-scale enterprise storage environment. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in NetApp ONTAP platforms, storage automation, cloud-integrated storage solutions, and enterprise backup/recovery technologies. This role will be responsible for managing critical storage infrastructure, supporting virtualization and cloud initiatives, driving automation, and ensuring high availability across on-premises and hybrid environments., * Administer and support large-scale NetApp storage environments consisting of approximately 80+ ONTAP FAS, AFF, and C-Series nodes.

• Manage and optimize NetApp ONTAP environments running ONTAP 9.15.1 or later.
• Support and expand Amazon FSx for NetApp ONTAP (FSxN) deployments.
• Implement and maintain storage automation using Ansible and NetApp automation frameworks.
• Monitor and manage storage infrastructure using NetApp Data Infrastructure Insights (DII), Active IQ Unified Manager (AIQUM), and Harvest/NABox.
• Support alerting, monitoring, and incident management integrations, including ServiceNow.
• Manage and support NetApp SnapCenter Server for SQL and Oracle backups.
• Administer SnapCenter Plug-in for VMware (SCV) and associated backup/recovery operations.
• Support VMware environments and participate in virtualization transformation initiatives, including evaluation and migration to OpenNebula.
• Assist with storage migration projects utilizing NetApp Shift Toolkit and related migration technologies.
• Support large-scale disaster recovery environments leveraging VMware SRM and NetApp Storage Replication Adapter (SRA).
• Administer NetApp StorageGRID environments, including upgrades, maintenance, and FabricPool integrations.
• Collaborate closely with compute, networking, cloud, and infrastructure teams to deliver integrated enterprise solutions.
• Develop operational procedures, automation workflows, and technical documentation.
• Participate in incident response, troubleshooting, performance tuning, and capacity planning activities., * 80+ NetApp ONTAP storage nodes across enterprise environments
• ONTAP FAS, AFF, and C-Series platforms

• 5+ years of experience administering NetApp storage environments.

• Strong expertise with:

• NetApp ONTAP (FAS, AFF, C-Series)
• SAN/NAS technologies
• NFS, SMB/CIFS, iSCSI, and Fibre Channel protocols
• Storage replication and disaster recovery solutions
• SnapCenter Server and associated plugins
• VMware vSphere environments
• Storage performance analysis and capacity management

Experience with automation tools such as Ansible.

Experience with enterprise monitoring and alerting platforms.

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Amazon FSx for NetApp ONTAP (FSxN).
• Experience with NetApp Data Infrastructure Insights (DII).
• Experience with NetApp Active IQ Unified Manager (AIQUM).
• Experience with Harvest/NABox monitoring solutions.
• Experience with NetApp StorageGRID administration.
• Experience with VMware SRM and NetApp SRA.
• Exposure to OpenNebula or alternative virtualization platforms.
• Knowledge of ServiceNow integrations and ITSM processes.
• NetApp certifications (NCDA, NCIE, NS0-series certifications) preferred.
• Cloud storage and hybrid-cloud architecture experience preferred.
