Job description
We are searching for an embedded signal processing engineer who is at least familiar with one of the following application areas:
- Low level sensor raw data processing (e.g. filtering, compression)
- On-ground Level 1 processing
- Object detection
- Autonomous navigation and perception
Your Responsibilities
- Research suitable on-board processing algorithms for various applications, e.g. super-resolution, calibration, compression
- Implement reference prototypes neglecting hardware constraints
- Perform optimization loops on reference implementations wrt. to on-board constraints (e.g. bit accurate models)
- Define, design, test and implement dedicated signal processing algorithms in SW environment with preliminary on-board deployment
- Evaluate performance of reference implementation wrt. HW implementation
- Define interfaces and according requirements
- Conduct verification and validation activities including the planning and reporting
- Define work packages and manage interfaces with external sub- contractors in industry and academia
- Review different sub-contractor results, like technical proposals, technical reports, software, data or specifications
- Support technical discussion with customer or supplier
- Cooperate closely with internal and external partners concerned with the development of both space and ground segment operational software and hardware
Requirements
- University / polytechnic degree or PhD in a relevant engineering or scientific discipline (Computer Vision, Computer Science, Embedded SW Engineering, Signal Processing, Physics, Aerospace Engineering, Robotics,)
- Algorithm deployment on target HW
- Proficient in at least one of the following categories:
- Passive optical instruments
- Signal processing & mathematical modelling
- Image processing algorithms
- Level 1 processing
- Autonomous navigation
- Experience in programming (e.g. Python, C++)
- Good communication and negotiation skills
- Pro-active, solution and product oriented approach
- Fluent in English in reading and writing
