Requirements

Do you have a valid Driving License license?, Do you have experience in Technical support?, Do you have a GCSE?, We supply IT support services to home and small businesses in and around Herefordshire and the surrounding counties. The successful applicant will be required to supply 1st and 2nd line IT/helpdesk support to our clients, so a good telephone manner is required. In addition to helpdesk support, you may be required to attend a site, and so a clean UK driving licence is essential. The position will be offered as a part-time (temporary, leading to full time) or a full time permanent post initially, with hours and pay to be discussed.

It is essential to have a good knowledge of, and ideally experience with, the following:

  • Microsoft / Office 365 admin / EntraID (adding users, domains, exchange mail migration, sharepoint, security etc.)
  • Office applications including, Word, Excel, Outlook, Sharepoint, Teams
  • Windows 10/11/Server
  • Team Viewer remote access and monitoring
  • General helpdesk troubleshooting duties

It is advantageous if you have knowledge or experience with:

  • Windows server 2016 - current (adding users, creating shares, file permissions)
  • Domain controller active directory, group policy
  • Draytek router experience / knowledge
  • Wired and wireless networks, access points, routers, point to point
  • VLAN, VPN, Remote access / sites

The successful applicant should be able to demonstrate the following personal qualities;

  • Be able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Be self motivated and use own initiative
  • Good attendance and time keeping
  • Handling telephone calls and prioritising jobs
  • Excellent communication skills

It would be beneficial to also have experience with hardware and software repairs which may include;

  • Installing Windows
  • Removing viruses
  • Upgrading hardware
  • Replacing faulty components such as, hard disk drives, memory, laptop screens and PSUs
  • Cloning systems
  • Troubleshooting, operating systems and software issues
  • Experience with network cabling and Wifi installations, * GCSE or equivalent (preferred)

Experience:

  • Customer service: 2 years (preferred)
  • Technical support: 1 year (required)
