Job description
This role involves owning and evolving end-user platform services and infrastructure roadmaps across Citrix (on-prem + cloud), VDI, VPN/Zero Trust (Zscaler or equivalent), Intune, and workstation services. The focus is on platform strategy, lifecycle planning, standards/best practices, vendor and stakeholder partnership, and mentoring, rather than help desk or break/fix activities., * 20% Perform technical interviews and analysis with vendors and/or stake holders to develop and track the road map/life cycle of infrastructure for hardware, software, products, and/or processes. May schedule regular meetings, conference calls, or on-site visits with vendors and/or stake holders to keep abreast of current technology(s), products, and/or processes. May review with vendor and/or stakeholders, known upcoming activities associated with their specific technology(s), product(s), and/or processes. Research and stay abreast of all information that may impact the lifecycle of any supported technology, product, and/or process.
- 20% Facilitate the establishment, implementation, and maintenance of best practices, policies, standards, and desktop procedures to be used by the operational units to guide the use of each technology solution or product.
- 20% Assist in the research and development of new products including product evaluation, integration, or procedures of use.
- 20% Establish and maintain effective working relationships and open communication with vendors, operations, architecture, and/or management staff.
- 20% Provide guidance and training to less experienced staff in the responsibilities involved in technology analysis.
Requirements
- 7 years specific knowledge of supported technologies/products/processes
- 3 years directly supporting those technologies/products/processes (may be concurrent)
- Experience supporting Citrix Virtual Apps & Desktops (On-Prem & Cloud), XenApp/XenDesktop, NetScaler, StoreFront, Windows Server, Active Directory, high availability, performance tuning, security
- Knowledge of Secure Remote Access / Zero Trust (Zscaler or equivalent), VPN technologies, migration from legacy remote access models
- VDI & endpoint platforms, including Windows workstation platforms, VDI integration, cross-platform dependency awareness
- Enterprise networking & security integration, including firewalls, certificates, TLS, access controls, traffic routing, and security tooling impacts
- Ability to research, analyze, and develop infrastructure roadmaps and lifecycle plans
Required Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, OR
- 4 years of job-related work experience, OR
- 2 years of job-related experience + Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
Preferred Skills
- Citrix modernization (cloud & on-prem), LTSR upgrades, StoreFront optimization, infrastructure reduction
- Designing/testing patterns for remote access solutions to replace or augment VPN/Citrix
- Integrating remote access solutions with workstation OS standards and VDI platforms
