Job description

At Rapid Response, software engineers build systems that help protect life and property. Our applications support mission critical operations that thousands of customers rely on every day. We are looking for a Software Engineer II who is passionate about building industry leading software and using modern development practices to accelerate delivery. This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys creating new capabilities and leveraging AI-powered tools throughout the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC). You will work alongside experienced engineers, architects, analysts, and business stakeholders to deliver software that has a direct impact on our customers and our mission., * Design, develop, test, deploy, and support software applications and services.

  • Build scalable APIs and user-facing applications using modern development frameworks.
  • Collaborate with product owners and customers to transform business needs into software solutions.
  • Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and technical design sessions.
  • Leverage AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity, code quality, testing, documentation, and troubleshooting.
  • Analyze production issues and participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend improvements that strengthen our applications and development practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Two (2) or more years of professional software development experience.
  • Experience developing applications using C# and the Microsoft .NET platform.
  • Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs.
  • Working knowledge of Git source control and modern software development practices.
  • Experience working with relational databases and writing SQL queries and stored procedures.
  • Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks such as Angular, React, or Vue.
  • Experience leveraging AI-powered development tools within the SDLC for activities such as coding assistance, test generation, code review, documentation, troubleshooting, or software design.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment.
  • Familiarity with secure software development practices, SAST, DAST, and DevSecOps principles
  • Department of Defense security clearance is a plus but not required.
  • Successful completion of a post-offer drug screen.
