#1 about 4 min

Setting expectations for effective enterprise cloud adoption

Going beyond mandatory cloud migrations by defining clear business outcomes and justifications.

#2 about 5 min

Evolution of deployment models from application servers

The historical shift from monolithic application servers sharing hardware to decentralized virtual machines.

#3 about 3 min

Infrastructure as code and generated cloud configuration

Modern cloud tooling repeats past deployment complexity through massive templates of generated configuration files.

#4 about 5 min

Challenging common developer expectations of public clouds

The reality of necessary manual machine provisioning versus assumptions of immediate automated scalability.

#5 about 3 min

Recognizing pragmatic cloud benefits for enterprise applications

Why the agility to instantly provision entire infrastructure environments provides greater value than raw execution scaling.

#6 about 2 min

Utilizing Kubernetes as a foundation for internal platforms

Why container orchestration acts better as underlying infrastructure for custom platform convenience than as a direct application host.

#7 about 7 min

Deploying enterprise applications with managed cloud orchestrators

Using traditional Java application deployment models integrated automatically as hidden Kubernetes operators.

#8 about 3 min

Evaluating managed container services and migration strategies

The limitations of purely rehosting applications via lift and shift operations without adding immediate business value.

#9 about 4 min

Analyzing the operational overhead of microservices architectures

Reverting to simpler monolith designs to avoid the networking latency and compute costs of fragmented component execution.

#10 about 3 min

Adapting application designs for monthly cost reduction

Restructuring storage access patterns and component allocations explicitly to lower ongoing multi-tiered service billing.

#11 about 4 min

Estimating public cloud operational costs with calculators

Comparing the practical execution costs of function calls against continuously running container groups.

#12 about 4 min

Adopting automation and serverless components for efficiency

Operating custom services securely with auto-scaled primitives while leaving boring workloads in typical co-located computing.

#13 about 3 min

Integrating advanced cloud functionality into on-premise applications

Calling isolated machine learning and vision analysis cloud services without fully migrating established backend storage.
