Job description
We are looking for an experienced consultant to join a Level 2 IT support team (4 people) as part of a mission based in Geneva. This is a hands-on, 100% on-site position .
The consultant will bring in-depth expertise in Microsoft technologies , workstation management , VMware/Omnissa VDI infrastructure , as well as monitoring and performance tools .
Particular attention will be given to testing quality , technical documentation , and service performance .
They will work closely with the Level 1 support team, assisting with escalations and ensuring the proper functioning of collaboration tools such as Outlook, Microsoft Exchange, and Teams ., Infrastructure & Workstation Management
- Handle incidents and requests escalated to Level 2.
- Assist and coordinate Level 1 support for issues related to Outlook, Exchange, Teams, and other Microsoft services.
- Administer and support the Omnissa platform (formerly VMware EUC: Horizon, Workspace ONE, UEM) for VDI/DaaS and endpoint environments .
- Manage and optimize the Microsoft stack (Windows 10/11, Intune/SCCM, Entra ID, Teams).
- Ensure the stability, compliance, and security of workstations and mobile devices.
Monitoring, Performance & Optimization
- Administer on-premise monitoring tools for infrastructure health and capacity.
- Implement and operate user experience monitoring tools (ControlUp or equivalent).
- Diagnose and optimize infrastructure paths to improve performance and stability.
- Deploy automated benchmarks and integrate them into the monitoring layer.
Identity, Security & Deployment
- Configure and administer Entra ID (Azure AD) and access policies.
- Administer Microsoft Teams to ensure secure and reliable collaboration.
- Define and execute application, OS, and patch deployment strategies .
- Apply security and compliance best practices on endpoints.
Automation, Testing & DevOps
- Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts for automation and optimization.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines using GitHub for infrastructure automation.
- Knowledge of Terraform (or equivalent IaC tool) is a plus.
- Apply testing and validation practices to ensure deployment quality.
Service Management & Documentation
- Use ServiceDesk+ (ITSM) for incident, change, and problem management.
- Participate in cmdm/MDM administration for endpoint and mobile security.
- Write clear documentation: runbooks, technical guides, and procedures for L1/L2 teams.
- Ensure knowledge sharing and effective communication between teams.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Windows?, Technical Skills
- Strong expertise in Microsoft technologies and endpoint management (Intune/SCCM, Windows, Teams, Entra ID, Exchange, Outlook).
- Hands-on experience with the VMware/Omnissa EUC suite (Horizon, Workspace ONE, UEM).
- Solid experience in monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance optimization (ControlUp or equivalent).
- Ability to deploy and integrate performance benchmarks into monitoring workflows.
- Excellent command of PowerShell for automation and optimization.
- Good knowledge of CI/CD environments and GitHub; Terraform is a plus.
- Familiarity with ITSM tools (ServiceDesk+) and MDM/cmdm solutions.
Professional Experience
- Minimum 15 years of experience .
- Proven experience in L2 infrastructure support within on-premise environments.
- Experience in banking, insurance, or legal sectors is a major advantage.
- Knowledge of high-security and compliance-constrained environments.
Languages
- English : Minimum C1 (professional proficiency).
- French : A strong asset.
