Job description

We are seeking a Senior Embedded Linux Developer to lead the design, development, and maintenance of Linux-based systems for ARM64 embedded platforms. This position is ideal for an engineer passionate about secure, efficient, and maintainable embedded systems running Debian- or Ubuntu-based operating systems., * Develop and maintain custom Linux OS builds for ARM64 embedded platforms.

  • Manage and maintain Debian-based distributions, including creation and maintenance of .deb packages.
  • Implement system hardening and security best practices for embedded Linux.
  • Optimize system performance, boot time, and reliability across hardware configurations.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams on system integration and validation.
  • Automate build, deployment, and maintenance processes using bash scripting and Linux toolchains.
  • Contribute to kernel configuration and driver development as needed.

What You Bring

  • Extensive experience with embedded Linux development on ARM64 architecture.
  • Deep understanding of Debian/Ubuntu system internals and package management (dpkg, apt, lintian, pbuilder, etc.).
  • Solid grasp of Linux security hardening, secure boot, and update integrity mechanisms.
  • Proficiency in C++, Python, and bash scripting.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing or supporting compliance efforts under the Cyber Resilience Act and RED directive.
  • Knowledge of Linux build systems such as Yocto, Buildroot, or custom Debian-based build pipelines.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Ubuntu?, * Experience with Linux kernel driver development and low-level system debugging.

  • Familiarity with secure firmware signing, SBOM (Software Bill of Materials) management, and vulnerability tracking tools.
  • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines for embedded software delivery.
  • Contributions to open-source Linux or Debian projects.

Work Location: This role is based out of our Kassel office and follows a hybrid schedule. We rely on in-person collaboration and ask that team members work onsite Tuesdays through Fridays, with the flexibility to work remotely on Mondays, unless there is an approved workplace accommodation.
