Job description

We're hiring a VP of Data to level up and unify our data leadership, modernise our platforms, and scale data capabilities across Oviva's growing international operations. This role will lead our Data Platform, Business Intelligence, and Data Science teams, creating alignment between strategic ambition and execution in a fast-scaling healthcare business.

You'll bring experience from a complex growth or transformation environment, where you've not only built high-performing data teams but also structured platforms that enabled efficiency and self-service at scale. This is a hands-on executive role with both operational and strategic scope, managing up to 25 data professionals and driving architectural clarity, engineering rigour, and business partnership.

You'll report directly to the CTO and partner closely with Product, Commercial, and Clinical leadership teams across Germany, the UK, Switzerland, and Poland., * Own and evolve Oviva's data strategy, combining platform vision with operational excellence across BI, Data Science, and Engineering functions

Requirements

  • Proven success leading multi-disciplinary data functions through transformation, within high-growth environments
  • Deep understanding of modern data architectures, cloud platforms, and scalable analytics ecosystems
  • Strong leadership and people development capabilities, particularly in managing technical teams across functions
  • Ability to define and operationalise data standards and processes across the stack (e.g. lifecycle, access, code quality)
  • Excellent stakeholder management across business, product, and engineering functions
  • Experience in regulated industries (e.g. healthtech or fintech) or multi-jurisdictional environments is a plus
  • A background in engineering or data architecture is helpful but not essential
