Join our dynamic hardware development team at Nokia's Optics R&D Center in Nuremberg, where you'll play a key role in enhancing our Optical Cross Connect Systems for high-speed optical networking. You will optimize our IT environment in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team while engaging with international partners to drive innovation. Your responsibilities will include monitoring IT environments, supporting users, and developing tools to enhance hardware development processes, all while implementing security standards. - Work as part of a multi-disciplinary local IT support team to maintain and optimize our IT environment.
- Contribute to the evolution of our IT and Hardware development environment in collaboration with other international sites.
- Monitor IT environment and derive improvement plans.
- Act as contact from business to IT for site related topic, new process introductions, interface to end users/projects.
- Support and guide central IT organization in local maintenance tasks.
- Develop tools to support and improve hardware development.
- Implement security standards for lab and applications.
- Support users in various IT aspects (installation, ticket, setup, ordering, …).
- Due to close teamwork with experts in this demanding environment there are many opportunities to grow you knowledge, gain experience, and develop.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Virtualization?, Do you have a Master's degree?, * Bachelor / Master degree in Electrical Engineering or Software Engineering.
- Experience in IT-administration of infrastructure and platform.
- Experience with server structures and maintenance, license management etc..
- Expertise in programming languages and operating systems.
- Good proven skills in at least one relevant scripting language.
- Very good and practically proven Linux knowledge (CentOS/RHEL).
- Experience with virtualization (VMWare, KVM, LXC) and automation (Ansible).
- Knowledge of networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLAN).
It would be nice if you also had:
- Very good communication skills.
- A cooperative and team oriented working style, well-structured with the desire to deliver high quality.
- Experience in collaboration with international internal and external partners.
- Willingness to work at extraordinary working hours (maintenance tasks, critical incidents, etc.), also on weekends.
- German & English both spoken and written.
