Job description
As a Platform Engineer you'll join our platform team within Data & AI department and have a key role in shaping how our services are built, managed, and scaled. You will enjoy high autonomy and the opportunity to automate extensive parts of our infrastructure and tooling. This is a role where you'll make real world impact, working with modern technologies and supporting our mission of delivering reliable and efficient systems.
About your tasks:
- Develop automation solutions to drive operational efficiency and reduce manual effort.
- Design, build and maintain platform infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles with tools such as Terraform.
- Operate and evolve a Kubernetes-based platform for the Data & AI department, enabling deployment, management, and scaling of services following GitOps practices.
- Leverage Data Lakehouse platforms (such as Databricks) to support platform capabilities.
- Collaborate closely with other engineering, DevOps/MLOps, site reliability, and product teams to define platform standards, improve reliability and enable developer self-service.
- Participate in architecture discussions, propose improvements, and drive the adoption of best practices.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and the cloud-native ecosystem to continuously improve the platform.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Terraform?, * Hands-on experience with Databricks or other Data Lakehouse technologies.
- Extensive practical experience operating Kubernetes in production or at scale.
- Proficient in Python, Shell, and/or Go for scripting and automating infrastructure and workflows.
- Experience working with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), automation, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure or GCP).
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and take ownership.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams in a fast-moving environment.
- Fluency in English; German language skills are a plus but not required.
