Job description

  • Work closely with consulting teams and clients to understand business problems and translate them into structured, prioritized data science initiatives
  • Develop tools for data acquisition, transformation, and management of large and complex datasets
  • Prototype, test, and deploy machine learning models across a wide variety of data types-from small-scale to massive datasets
  • Build re-usable frameworks, models, and components that address recurring use cases across industries and functions
  • Maintain high standards in code quality and model reproducibility, enabling scalable deployment and model reuse
  • Stay up to date on the latest data science techniques and tools to enhance Bain's capabilities.
  • Travel is required. This position requires regional travel away from your home office/primary working location. Travel frequency and destinations will vary based on project needs.

Requirements

Do you have a Master's degree?, * Advanced degree in a quantitative field or relevant undergraduate degree with 2+ years of experience in data science or advanced analytics

  • Proficiency in Python, with additional languages considered a plus
  • Familiarity with GenAI concepts including LLMs, prompting, semantic search, and integration into applications
  • Understanding of machine learning algorithms (supervised, unsupervised, reinforcement learning)
  • Professional fluency in English and German
  • Experience with ML libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, H2O, MXNet, MLlib)
  • Strong foundation in mathematics and statistics
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, particularly when translating technical topics to non-technical stakeholders, * Masters or PhD in a relevant field
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams and fast-paced environments
