Job description
My client is hiring a Linux System Engineer to support and scale modern infrastructure systems in a high-performance, international team. You'll combine hands-on Linux system administration with cutting-edge DevOps practices, helping to build and automate a robust and secure environment for our applications and services.
This is a hybrid role based in Leipzig, Germany, with a strong focus on ownership, collaboration, and long-term impact.
Tasks
What You'll Do
- Manage and develop server infrastructure (physical servers & ESXi)
- Maintain and expand monitoring systems (Prometheus, Grafana)
- Configure and administer databases (primarily MySQL)
- Develop and maintain self-hosted Kubernetes clusters
- Automate recurring processes using Ansible and scripting
- Support developers through DevOps/SRE practices
- Collaborate with the security team to implement protective measures
Requirements
- Degree or equivalent training in Computer Science or related field
- Deep experience with Linux
- Proficiency in Docker, networking, and monitoring tools
- MySQL database administration experience
- Experience with automation/configuration tools (e.g., Ansible)
- Solid scripting skills (e.g., Bash, Python)
