Job description

My client is hiring a Linux System Engineer to support and scale modern infrastructure systems in a high-performance, international team. You'll combine hands-on Linux system administration with cutting-edge DevOps practices, helping to build and automate a robust and secure environment for our applications and services.

This is a hybrid role based in Leipzig, Germany, with a strong focus on ownership, collaboration, and long-term impact.

Tasks

What You'll Do

  • Manage and develop server infrastructure (physical servers & ESXi)
  • Maintain and expand monitoring systems (Prometheus, Grafana)
  • Configure and administer databases (primarily MySQL)
  • Develop and maintain self-hosted Kubernetes clusters
  • Automate recurring processes using Ansible and scripting
  • Support developers through DevOps/SRE practices
  • Collaborate with the security team to implement protective measures

Requirements

  • Degree or equivalent training in Computer Science or related field
  • Deep experience with Linux
  • Proficiency in Docker, networking, and monitoring tools
  • MySQL database administration experience
  • Experience with automation/configuration tools (e.g., Ansible)
  • Solid scripting skills (e.g., Bash, Python)
