Job description
As Lead System Engineer, you will be responsible for the strategic coordination and control of engineering efforts across internal teams and subcontractors. Your main mission is to ensure that all technical development activities-from concept to integration-are aligned with system-level objectives, program milestones, and contractual obligations., * Develop and maintain the master engineering roadmap, integrating inputs from internal teams and subcontractors
- Define key engineering milestones, maturity gates, and dependencies across system domains
- Monitor progress against roadmap objectives, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies
- Coordinate and control subcontractor engineering roadmaps to ensure alignment with system-level plans
- Review subcontractor development schedules, technical baselines, and milestone deliverables
- Facilitate joint planning sessions, technical reviews, and roadmap synchronization workshops
- Ensure subcontractor designs and developments are consistent with the overall system architecture, managing interface definitions, integration points, and system-level trade-offs
- Oversee verification and validation (V&V) planning across subcontractors, ensuring integration into the overall test strategy
- Provide regular technical status updates and progress indicators for program management and stakeholders
- Act as the technical interface between engineering, program management, and subcontractor teams
- Mentor internal engineers and promote best practices in roadmap planning and technical coordination
Requirements
Do you have experience in Systems engineering?, * Degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
- 10+ years of experience in system engineering, with a strong focus on subcontractor coordination and roadmap management
- Proven track record in leading complex, multi-domain programs with distributed development teams
- Expertise in system engineering methodologies (e.g., V-model, MBSE), lifecycle planning, and interface management
- Proficiency in planning tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera), modeling tools (e.g., SysML, Cameo), and requirements platforms (e.g., DOORS, Polarion)
- Familiarity with space systems, ground infrastructure, and integrated network environments
- Strong leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management capabilities
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills
- Ability to manage complexity across international and multi-vendor environments
- INCOSE CSEP or equivalent systems engineering certification is preferred
- Project management certifications (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) are a plus
