Job description
- Design, implement, and manage high-performance SQL Server databases.
- Administer Azure SQL Server and Azure Managed Instance, ensuring security and availability.
- Develop and maintain SSRS reports and SSIS ETL packages.
- Troubleshoot and resolve performance issues, replication failures, and security vulnerabilities.
- Collaborate with development and operations teams on database optimization and structure.
- Manage backup, disaster recovery, and high-availability strategies (Always On, clustering, log shipping, replication).
- Lead database migrations, upgrades, and cloud adoption initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with database security best practices and industry standards.
- Understand and implement DevOps practices, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and CI/CD for database deployments.
- Familiarity with NoSQL databases and hybrid cloud environments.
- Hands-on experience with Azure SQL Server and Azure Managed Instance.
Requirements
- 7+ years in database engineering, administration, and performance tuning.
- Strong expertise in SQL Server (T-SQL, stored procedures).
- Proficiency in SSRS and SSIS.
- Advanced skills in query optimization and execution plan analysis.
- Experience with high-availability setups: Always On, clustering, replication, log shipping.
- Solid understanding of database security, auditing, and compliance.
- Design, implement, and manage Oracle and SQL Server databases.
- Optimize queries, indexes, and stored procedures for performance and scalability.
- Experience with cloud-native database solutions and automation.
- Understanding of NoSQL databases and hybrid cloud environments.
- Hands-on experience with Azure SQL Server and Azure Managed Instance.
Preferred Certifications
- Oracle Database Administrator Certified Professional
- Other relevant certifications as applicable
