Solaris/Veritas Expert Technician

We are looking for a Solaris/Veritas Expert Technician to work on a stable project with a permanent contract, for a client in Madrid. The position requires on-site presence one day every three weeks; the rest of the time is remote work.

Functions

• Manage and maintain Solaris 10 and 11 environments , ensuring the stability, availability, and performance of production systems.
• Manage and optimize the Veritas 7-based infrastructure , including VCS (Cluster Server) , VxVM (Volume Manager) , and VxFS (File System) .
• Monitor and ensure high availability of critical services , applying failover and incident recovery policies.
• Plan and implement upgrade, patching, and preventative maintenance tasks on Solaris servers.
• Manage file systems, volumes, and storage devices in corporate environments.
• Manage backups, restores, and contingency plans , ensuring data integrity.
• Diagnose and resolve performance, hardware and software issues by analyzing system logs and traces.
• Automate administrative tasks using scripting (Shell, Bash, Perl or Python) to optimize daily operations.
• Coordinate actions with infrastructure, network, database, and security teams to ensure continuity of service.
• Document technical procedures, incidents and configurations , ensuring the traceability of changes in managed environments.

Do you have experience in Solaris?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, * University degree in Computer Engineering, Telecommunications or higher degree related to computer science.

• Minimum of 2-3 years' experience in a similar position.
• Solaris Systems Administration 10 and 11.
• Veritas Administration 7.
