Job description
The department in Deventer (~100 fte) is responsible for the electronics development of control units for heating appliances (hybrid and boilers) and connectivity products. Within the department they distinguish several teams: hardware, control- and embedded software, validation and test.
What are you going to do?
As People Manager, you contribute to achieving the department targets and you manage and coach your team of associates of approximately (~10-15 fte) and a varying group of externals (~ 5-10 fte). You may also be disciplinary responsible for associates with a target line outside of Deventer.
Your role is focused on the individual associates who you support in their personal development and ambitions. You are responsible for hiring and onboarding of new (internal and external) colleagues. You support the development of the business strategy and are responsible for future technologies in embedded hardware, software and connectivity. In overarching cooperation, you help aligning technologies and improve the working processes and methods.
The ideal candidate thinks in solutions and opportunities, instead of problems. You would have experience in hardware and embedded software development. You are independent and decisive, you take initiative and have a getting-things-done attitude.
You take responsibility for your own decisions and actions and you know how to manage conflicts constructively. You are not a micro-manager but act as a coach: you do not focus on control but support your associates to achieve their goals.
Requirements
- Ability to work and think at Bachelor or Master level;
- Relevant training and proven track record in leadership skills;
- Analytical skills and the ability to think on a strategic level;
- Familiar with Agile working (Scrum/Kanban);
- Preferably knowledge of software and/ or hardware development;
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English;
- We are looking for an experienced people manager who manages by example and appreciation.
