Job description
KLM's Engineering & Maintenance (E&M) department is looking for SAP consultants. E&M is responsible for the maintenance of aircraft, components and engines of KLM as well as other airlines. Crucial work for safe aviation, in other words. In turn, our SAP implementations support a large part of all maintenance processes. As a SAP consultant, you are the link between ICT and the business, translating the wishes of the E&M operation into technical solutions. From small tweaks and upgrades to completely new systems: you ensure that our mechanics, engineers or warehouse staff can do their work quickly, efficiently and safely. What will you do?
You'll start with a stand-up: what is your team working on, and does anyone need help? After a cup of coffee, you have a meeting with a colleague from operations who wants a new functionality for the warehouse management system. You think along, ask questions and outline the possibilities within SAP. After lunch, you get straight down to work on the configuration, but for a specific part you enlist the help of a developer. He will help you on your way with some skillful programming. At the end of the afternoon, you prepare a demo to show to the business tomorrow. Your day ends with a Teams call with French colleagues about the integration between different systems. Satisfied, you close your laptop. A totally different day tomorrow.
In general, as SAP Solution Consultant you will be involved in analyses of business processes, identifying needs and translating them into future-proof SAP solutions. You supervise implementations from A to Z, from blueprint to after-care. In doing so, you are not only technically skilled but also know how to bring customers along with change. Your tasks include:
- Inventorying customer processes and requirements.
- Drawing up solution proposals and advising on design.
- Configuring SAP modules within the chosen domain.
- Testing and documenting.
- Supervising user acceptance tests (UAT) and training.
- Acting as a sparring partner for the business.
- Running on-call shifts.
