Job description

As Medior Engineer Configuration Management, you will play a key role in ensuring the consistency, traceability, and integrity of product configuration throughout the entire shipbuilding lifecycle from proposal to delivery and beyond. You will be at the heart of our engineering operations, guiding configuration processes, ensuring compliance, and enabling technical excellence across projects., As Medior Engineer Configuration Management your responsibilities will include:

  • Define and implement configuration management plans (CMPs) for our naval projects.
  • Set up and maintain project product structures, master document lists, and data environments.
  • Validate incoming and outgoing technical data from customers and suppliers.
  • Ensure robust change control processes and monitor implementation across departments.
  • Work within our PDM/PLM systems (preferably 3DX) to manage and structure complex data.
  • Provide guidance and training to project teams on configuration management practices.
  • Suggest improvements and help define future-proof configuration strategies.
  • Liaise with stakeholders across engineering, production, quality, and project management to ensure alignment.

Requirements

We are looking for candidates for the position of Medior Engineer Configuration Management with the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor or Master degree in Engineering, preferably with shipbuilding or maritime experience.
  • Proven experience in configuration management and familiarity with PDM/PLM systems (ideally 3DX).
  • Ideally you have experience with A solid grasp of Systems Engineering concepts and practices.
  • Attention to detail and an analytical mindset, particularly in managing and controlling complex data.
  • Proactive and structured way of working with a drive for continuous improvement.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to interpret and present technical data clearly.
  • Proficiency in English (written and spoken); knowledge of Dutch is a strong advantage
  • Permanent EU citizenship and a permanent EU passport (requirement due to the military nature of our projects).
  • Candidates with EU (work) visa or with (also) a non-EU nationality and/or passport are not eligible given the requirements imposed by the military nature of our projects., Please note that due to the military nature of our projects, only candidates who have permanent EU nationality can be considered for vacancies at Damen Naval.
