Job description

As an experienced SQL Server Infrastructure Specialist, you will be part of the Database Management Systems product team. You will be responsible for designing and aligning the SQL Server product within the broader APG architecture. You will advise both the team and the Product Owner and ensure optimal, sustainable, and future-proof implementation of our products and services.

Within the DBMS SQL team, you'll also be co-responsible for the design and alignment of the product within the broader APG architecture. Requirements

We're looking for a technical heavyweight with excellent communication skills. Someone who can convince stakeholders of the chosen architecture and easily deliver presentations and demos. You'll be able to convey complex technical concepts clearly and understandably. You'll also collaborate effectively with diverse teams and communicate persuasively to achieve shared goals. You'll naturally take initiative, inspire colleagues, and be able to engage others with your vision.Here's what you'll do: SQL Tasks: Monitor and manage the on-premises Microsoft SQL Server Data Platform. Perform Lifecycle Management activities, such as implementing changes and resolving incidents. Design and develop the future SQL Server Data Platform architecture. Continuously improve and automate processes. Collaborate with other engineers to perform operational tasks efficiently and effectively. You will be part of a team that works on standby (weekends/evenings).Product Architect Tasks: Design, document, and align the Data Platform architecture within the APG architecture. Collaborate intensively with other Database Management teams and architects within APG. Coordinating the design process and aligning with stakeholders such as security, the architecture community, and governance. Advising the team and the Product Owner on architectural issues. Translate technical requirements into design choices and prepare RFIs and RFPs. Coach the team and continuously improve the product design.

What you bring: Bachelor's/Master's degree. At least 7 years of work experience as an infrastructure engineer and/or architect. Infra-as-code is a plus. (PowerShellDSC, Ansible, Terraform). An inquisitive attitude focused on finding solutions, along with a critical eye. Coaching and consulting skills, so you can help teams develop further. Knowledge of or interest in security (authentication, encryption, protocols, network configurations).

QUALIFICATION/LICENSUREPreferred years of experience: 7 yearsTravel required: 25% to 50%Shift timings: Standby shifts: 1 day a week and 1 weekend every five weeks.
